Yoga Shelter in Action

We recently made a small change in how Yoga Shelter’s mission statement is organized. The change was inspired by Simon Sinek TED lecture, “how great leaders inspire action”.  See below:

Original version
At Yoga Shelter, our mission is to promote the wellbeing of individuals, inspire more great leaders, and uplift the communities where Yoga Shelter studios operate.

Start with why
At Yoga Shelter, our mission is uplift the communities where Yoga Shelter studios operate, inspire more great leaders, and promote the wellbeing of individuals.

The WHY of Yoga Shelter is to uplift the communities where Yoga Shelter studios operate, HOW is by inspire more great leaders, and WHAT promote the wellbeing of individuals. Yoga is a tool to to uplift the communities where we operate.

On July 17 Yoga Shelter will partner with Don Peasley for Yoga at the Park (link), raising awareness about Huntington's Disease. This was an easy partnership to establish based on Yoga Shelter’s mission statement:
●      Uplift the communities where Yoga Shelter studios operate -- yoga at the park will bring people together to support a community member’s cause. Yoga will bring people together, leaving them inspired by the end of the event.
●      Inspire more great leaders -- We believe that each community member has the potential to become a leader. Don is a yogi, but not a yoga teacher (yet...). Don took a leadership role in the community to promote a cause he is passionate about. Yoga Shelter was happy to assist Don.
●      Promote the wellbeing of individuals -- yoga is a tool to promote the wellbeing of individuals. People that will come to yoga at the part will come out feeling better, this improved feelings can be from the practice of yoga or connecting with new people. Either way, this event will elevate the wellbeing, happiness and the participants.

So, here we go. First-Ever Yoga in the Park event. 3 Classes, various levels, $25 tax deductible donation, all led by top rate instructors.
